Eagle Cut currently only supports .SVG format for imports – Eagle Cut 2.1, soon to be released, handles conversion within Eagle Cut it’s self. But, for now, you have to use an external program or website.
If you are using Adobe Illustrator, you can export SVG directly. We recommend 6 points of precision for your export, so that fine details are preserved.
For most vinyl cutting programs you may have developed templates there exists an export option. The most common export options are:
- .AI (Adobe Illustrator)
- .DXF (Drawing Exchange Format)
- .PLT (Usually “Save as PLT” or similar)
- .SVG
Until the 2.1 release, we recommend using Convertio – select the file to upload, select SVG from the “to” dropdown box
